It’s None Of My Business

It’s None Of My Business

We have generated an obscene amount of wealth which means we now work more than we ever had to but at the same time, more of us sink further into poverty.

I was casually glancing through Facebook and saw a flyer on UFC fighter, McGregor’s reaction to the supposed $300,000 watches gifted to guests at the rich Indian wedding. A couple of random thoughts went through my head, but I sighed after a long pause and rethought, well it’s none of my business.

I don’t even have to go into the mathematics of the amount of money wasted because that will be a fool’s errand and again, that is none of my business. But acts like that epitomize the current state of human administration.  The whole Indian issue is weird but I digress.

We have generated an obscene amount of wealth which means we now work more than we ever had to but at the same time, more of us sink further into poverty. That can be romanticized as credit, but who feels it knows. Even at first glance, you should know there’s something wrong with that equation.

Of course, it’s none of my business how people make their money and how they spend it. After all, most of the world is run by a free market economy and it’s up to you to create opportunities by identifying and solving problems. Right?

Rich people have the right to enjoy the best in life. They cracked the life code and are entitled to its dividends. In the same way, working people also have the right to decent living because they serve their life and time in the accumulation of the world’s wealth.

We have never been this close to creating a utopia. Ironically, we have sacrificed human intelligence for machine advancement. So as the machines get smarter, the humans get dumber, robbing us of an opportunity to become a dominating and supreme species in our own right.

It’s said that the rate of technological advancement has been the most rapid in recent human history but you will realize that at the same time, the rate of human development has been declining. We now have means to cure most common diseases but we create financial barriers that prevent humans from accessing these remedies. We can lay cables across the oceans and fly satellites into space to enable computers to communicate more effectively, but can’t make healthcare free and accessible to the human race.

The quality of human thoughts has declined, replaced with illusions and mindless fellowship. The lack of human development has been typified by the current state of world leadership. We have become slaves to greed and the desires of our feeble minds.

It’s none of my business what rich people want to do with their money, but it’s their business to know the kind of world their deeds create. Human beings have the instinct to find their needs. Peace, cohesion, and sustainability are secondary to the basic needs of humans – Food, clothing, shelter, and good health.

If you preoccupy people with the pressures of existing, they can’t afford to think about living. And all they will ever want is to sustain their existence.

In the words of the great Robert Nesta Marley – “When the rain fall, it don’t fall on one man’s housetop.” And by the way, what you do with this article is none of my business. After all, I have problems of my own 🤷‍♂️.

We can’t progress by focusing on symptoms and neglecting the root causes of our problems. COVID-19 wasn’t the issue but the circumstances that allowed it to fester. And the so-called Russian-Ukraine war – pss. That’s laughable.
